Oi oi oi!
This year, the Uthden Troll team has the honour to organise the Old School World Championship! 🏆🦈
We are incredibly proud to carry the legacy of the Shark for this year.
Because of this special honor, we’ve made an important change. Instead of our usual open registration (which sold out in just 4 minutes last year 😅), we will be running an invitational system for the majority of spots. With a Shark on the line, we expect things to go absolutely wild — and this approach allows us to better balance participation throughout the worldwide communities.
Of course, we won’t forget our loyal local players and long-time supporters ❤️
Everyone who has received a Troll of Honour badge (5+ years of attendance) will receive an invite.
📅 Timeline
• Invitations sent: April 20–22
• Confirmation of participation deadline: May 1
• Remaining tickets go live: May 11 at 20:00 CET. You’ll find a registration link here
(This includes all events: main event, Premodern, drafts, etc.)
🎟️ About capacity & venue
We will have a total of 200 spots available for this year’s event.
Given the number of spots and the overwhelming demand in previous years, we already know that we unfortunately won’t be able to accommodate everyone who would like to attend.
Upscaling to a bigger venue is something we have seriously discussed as a team. However, we’ve chosen not to do so. The Uthden Troll Cup has grown into a large festival, but what matters most to us is preserving the intimate feeling of a ‘small’ event.
Anyone who has attended before knows how much the current venue — with its different rooms and play areas — contributes to that unique atmosphere. It’s something we deeply value and don’t want to lose.
We can’t wait to make this another epic edition of UTC. Stay tuned…

❤️ Premodern the Old School way ❤️
Our Premodern events are run in the spirit of Old School Magic.
We play for honour, community, nostalgia, and great games — not for (cash) prizes. While there will absolutely be beautiful and high-value prizes, these will largely be raffled among participants rather than awarded purely based on standings.
Rules enforcement:
Most importantly: Don’t be a dick.
We expect players to compete fairly and respectfully. Excessive rules lawyering, angle-shooting, trying to exploit technicalities, or creating “gotcha” situations is not appreciated here.
Help us keep the atmosphere welcoming, relaxed, and fun for everyone — that’s what UTC is about. 🍻
For full information on legal sets, rules, and the current banned/restricted list, please check the official Premodern resources here.
